Analysis
From this focus group I can see that many people have different opinions on thriller films and their genres. This focus group has made me understand different points and perspectives and see how people views thriller films, for example what their thriller film is and why, its it's their favourite, why they can re-watch it, what makes it interesting for them. This focus group helps me understand the thriller film genre better, and it will help me with my opening thriller film sequence as I am working towards it. In my focus group I can see how as a collective with the group that is answering my questions that they all agree that with thriller films there need to have suspense or tension that is built up with the plot otherwise the thriller film won't be as thrilling or compelling to watch.
My focus group focused on the different types of thriller films, because everyone had their own favourite thriller film which helped a lot with the analysis, as I can see why people enjoy the different films as for some, for example, Luther has a fast paced editing and good character development. This was one of the answers in my focus group. All these types of answers of why they enjoy a specific thriller film helps me a lot with.
This focus group will help me a lot with producing my own opening sequence. This is because it will help me understand what is most enjoyable for the audience and what specific features an audience will enjoy more and be more interested into the film. But this focus group will also help me to understand how to build tension throughout the opening sequence, but it also tells me what not to do in a thriller film so that people will enjoy it more and would like to see more of these types of productions
